About the clinic

Caring for Belmore since 1984.

Belmore Physiotherapy has grown with the local community for more than 40 years. Many people have stayed with the clinic over time, and we now care for different generations of the same families.

Our story

A local clinic built on
long relationships.

Physiotherapist Charles Tzannes founded Belmore Physiotherapy in 1984 and continued working at the clinic until 2023, a period of almost four decades.

In 1996, the practice moved to 372 Burwood Road, making its home in Belmore’s former Post Office building. This familiar local landmark remains our current clinic premises.

Every member of our current therapy team has worked at Belmore Physiotherapy for at least 10 years. The team includes practitioners with more than 10, 20 and 30 years of clinical experience, giving patients the benefit of familiar clinicians who have worked alongside one another for a long time.

All of our physiotherapists worked in public hospitals earlier in their careers. That background gives them an understanding of acute care and the wider medical context that can sit alongside a muscle, joint or movement problem.

Our staff speak Greek, Arabic, Italian and Spanish as well as English. This helps many local patients and family members discuss appointments and care in a language that feels more comfortable.
